"Quit Applications" is a Contextual Menu Manager plugin that lets you
quit a running application by control clicking the application's file (or an alias
to it) in the Finder and choosing Quit Application from the Contextual Menu. This
can make quitting applications simpler, rather than switching to the application
and choosing Quit from the File menu.
Quit Applications can also be used to quit background only applications which do
not have a menu bar and are therefore much harder to quit.
Installing "Quit Applications"
To install "Quit Applications", either drag it on top of your closed System
Folder icon or drag it into the Contextual Menu Items folder in the System Folder,
then restart your Macintosh. To see if it is working, launch an application (like
SimpleText), then switch back to the Finder and control click on the SimpleText icon.
You should see an option that says Quit Application. Choose this menu item and
SimpleText will immediately quit.
Cost - Quit Applications is free. If you use it and like it, you can send me
a note and let me know. It can be included
on CD-Roms as long as I am sent a copy of the disk. Please e-mail
me for the address to send the disk to. Also, don't forget to check out DragStrip
which has a huge amount of features to make working with your Mac easier.
