Poppybank Software started building Mac utility applications in 1996 with the award winning DragStrip desktop launcher utility. After several years and three major updates, distribution of DragStrip was taken over by Aladdin Systems (now Smith Micro Software).
In 2008, (as TeeShot Software) we released TeeShot, one of the first golf scoring applications for the iPhone. TeeShot won critical acclaim and a loyal user following and was named App of the Week by Apple (as well as a Staff Favorite, twice!). TeeShot was followed by Practice Tee, an iPhone application to help golfers get more out of their practice time on the driving range. TeeShot and Practice Tee were sold to Electronic Arts’ EA SPORTS division in 2009 and is currently available as EA SPORTS TeeShotLive.
In 2009 and early 2010, we released a couple of small iOS applications. Pic-Z Share allows sharing of photos between iPhones, iPads and iPod touches using wireless bluetooth transfer – one of the simplest ways to move photos over to the iPad before it had a camera. Pic-Z Tag is a fun name tag application that turns your iPhone into a personalized name tag that is guaranteed to get you noticed.
2009 also saw the launch of TweedCase.com, a website for guitar enthusiasts to share photos and thoughts about their guitar collection.
2011 brings the launch of SyncTunes, a new application that lets users synchronize their iTunes libraries running on different computers. SyncTunes makes it simple to share music files and all of the associated metadata like lyrics, play counts, ratings and more between laptop and desktop Macs.
